From the Plan Of the Day or POD
Ok Gang. It appears to me that either twitter isn't working, or your not interested enough in my trivia facts. Just in case it's twitter with the problem, I'll give you the answers to yesterdays query. The seven animals are as follows: Four pelican hooks (they hold the anchor chain in the ready to drop position when the ship is underway) The bullnose (this is a chock at the front of the bow that a line is passed through when tying up the ship to the pier) I the one at the bow of the ship is called the bullnose, I bet you can't guess the name of the one that's at the stern? Your right it's the bull's ass. there are four turtle backs. (these are the shell coverings that go over the hawse pipe the the anchor chain is fed through) these also serve the purpose of keeping seawater out of the chain locker, which could lead to flooding. Snaking ( This is netting that goes completely around the ship to aid in keeping sailors who lose their footing from being washed overboard), The wildcat ( Commonly refered to as the windless, is the divice used to raise the anchor for storage in the chain locker, where it is prepared and made ready for being dropped again) and last but not least are pigtails ( these are small lines attached to hawser lines, tied in at designated spots, used by sailors to determine if a line is to taughnt or to slack, so that a line does not break)

From the Plan Of the Day or POD
Here's the answer to Yesterday's question about the bell bottom trousers and the reference to the stove pipe shape drawn from President Lincoln's hat. The bell bottoms, it was discovered covered the sailors shoes and or boots and help protect his shoes and feet while fighting fires aboard ship. Pay attention to this one because you will see it again later. The trouser legs not only could keep you from getting seriously burned, they could keep you afloat for anywhere up to a full hour, before you had to retrap air back inside them again. This came in handy if you were unfortunate enough to either get washed overboard or the ship sank out from under you. Thusly this is the history of the bell bottom trousers.
Trivia question 5 Can anyone tell me when the dixie cup came into being as part of the dress uniform and what hat did the sailors wear prior to that?
Answer to follow tommorrow. continue to follow me on ransomesproducts.com, my blog and don't forget to twitter me.

However did you know that they where fashioned after President Lincoln's stove pipe top hat? Now here's the question? OK gang since no one got an answer to either of the trivia questions from the day before or yesterday. I guess I'll have to supply you all with the answers.
Trivia question 1) The flap on the back of a sailors jumper was designed for the purpose of fighting fires aboard ship, you pulled it up and placed a protion of it under your hat which was turned upside down and together made a perfect cover to provide protection of the top of the head and the back of the neck while fighting fires.
Trivia question 2) The buttons on a sailors bellbottom trousers are thirteen in all and represent the 13 original colonies of this great country of ours. Although we sailors still insist that it was designed to give a girl 13 chances to say NO!!! Follow me at twitter, or ransomesproducts.com for further updates and trivia questions.

Stem Cell Research
I think what President Obama is doing is the right thing for the country in regards to stem cell research. I started my web page for two reasons, 1) my neice has a son with Autism, 2) I have a sister that is in need of a liver transplant. If she doesn't get one soon, or research isn't done in time to save her life, then I could lose my sister. My nephew could go through life with people not being able to eithe control him or to understand what is happening to him. I think that the country as a whole is behind this, because were talking about something that just plain gets discarded like it was nothing more than garbage. Where in hell are our heads at, if GOD gave us something to better our lives with, then why not use it. Go to ransomesproducts.com and visit me on my blogs to let me know how you feel about this topic.
Universal health Care
I'm wondering if I'm the only one out here that feels that it's every human beings right to be able to seek medical treatment, see a doctor or dentist anytime that it is necessary, and not have to worry about the cost of medications or the visits. Prescription Drugs are out ragous, hospital stays are rediculus and some of the newer medical procedures are so expensive that if it could cure a cancer and you can't pay for it and the insurance scam artist won't pay for it. Your left with one option, just go home and DIE. I THINK THIS STINKS. It's great for all the big busines fat cats in this world to say and preach what they want, but when push comes to shove, they just may find themselves on the other end of the scale and their way of life might not always be there. Then their going to wish like hell that they started seeing things from the little guys point of view. Sometimes situations have a way of turning things around and the rich aren't rich anymore, and the ones that have been ripping off the public are finally getting caught with thier hands in the cookie jar. It's already starting to happen!! WE NEED UNIVERSAL HEALTH CARE, AND WE NEED IT NOW. WOULD YOU BE WILLING TO PAY FOR IT? I KNOW I WOULD.

Fun stuff
Hey gang,
It's a nice day outside today and I thought that I might help my daughter and a friend of her's get a good start on a new business. Her friend Darlene has a business called Darlene's Toy Box that she seams to have had some success at. My daughter Swanta is trying to get her kit together so that she can get her business going. I thought that if I did some advertizing on my website ransomesproducts.com and on my blog that she just might let Swanta get her kit for free. The website www.Darlene's Toy Box is just for all you fun loving couples out there, so be a little leary if your not into that sort of thing.
